It wasn’t planes, trains, and automobiles, but almost: planes, cars (X2), and ferrys. For almost 2 weeks, we traveled through Slovenia, multiple regions of Croatia, and a day trip into Montenegro.
We flew into Ljubljana, rented a car, and drove for more than a week, ending up in Split, where we dropped it back off. From Split, we took a ferry to the island of Hvar (the highlight of the trip), then another ferry to Dubrovnik. We rented a car again in Dubrovnik and drove into Montenegro to visit the medieval city of Kotor. We flew back home out of Dubrovnik.
The map below show our route. Red dots indicate destinations we visited; red dots with white centers indicate destinations in which we stayed overnight.
